Ok, so it's not the worst thing to happen to me since I cut my eyelashes with scissors when I was 8, but here are some reactions:
- "Did you cut it yourself!?"
- * silence * (the classic rejection from a Thai)
- "You are a cutie!" (from a 16 year old boy- huh?)
- "How much did you pay for that?!"
- "Dedt pom" (aka 'haircut' - stating the obvious)
- A shy smile from one of my students who used to call me 'beautiful' everyday

How fast will your hair grow back?
:-}
Mom
It can't be worse than my roommate's cut in China. He got the distinctive "Asian Mullet" which would have been really hip if he was a Japanese kid not a blond Irish skater. And when I just asked for a buzz cut, they were terrified. I had to keep saying "cuo! cuo!" and gesturing at my whole head.
That said, just pretend you wanted it cut that way and I'm sure you'll set some hipster trend we see surface in a few years.
Becky, Buy the Vidal Sassoon straightener at Tesco (my old one broke, just bought the new one), and all will be well. You will be a hot mama. It's actually pretty cute... and hair grows. :)
No worries. Hey, better to regret something you've done than something you didn't do, right?
If you do consider a straightener though, it has an Asian plug, so it won't work in the U.S. I'm donating mine to Maricel.
kun su-ay... mai bpen rai na ka!
It doesn't look bad.
